Asphalt Paving Machine Screed Operator (Dallas, TX) - Austin Bridge & RoadAustin Bridge & Road is currently seeking experienced Asphalt Paving Machine Screed Operators for any of the North Texas asphalt projects. We excel at what we do and are looking for talented construction professionals that want to excel with us.The Asphalt Paving Machine Screed Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the screed. This position operates the screed to provide the level asphalt surface.ResponsibilitiesPerform daily equipment maintenance and inspectionsOperate equipment in a safe and efficient mannerPrior to and at the end of each shift ensure the screed is clean and properly adjusted for the type of paving to be completed.Monitor temperature settingsAdjust the screed paving reference components to the project specs, paving, width, depth (thickness), grade and slopeEnsure proper contact between gates and the paving surfaceAdjust endgate springs and chains for clearanceBe able to troubleshoot problems and make the necessary screed adjustments concerning the asphalt during paving operationsInstall/Remove electronic grade controlAssist paving crew with site preparation and any other activity as neededParticipate as a vital team member, contributing towards Austin's successAttend daily safety meetingsFollow safety policies and proceduresWork hours adjusted to meet the project's needs; days, nights and weekendsAble to work in adverse weather conditions, hot or cold temperaturesOther duties as assignedQualifications1+ years of experience operating asphalt equipmentMust have a strong commitment to jobsite safetyDiligent in demonstrating safe work practices.Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
