Staff AccountantWe are looking for an experienced part time Staff Accountant to join a nonprofit organization based in Nashville, Tennessee. This contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial management and operations of an impactful organization. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in accounting practices, particularly with nonprofit entities, and proficiency in QuickBooks Online.Responsibilities:Manage accounts payable processes to ensure accurate and timely payments.Perform monthly bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.Create and post journal entries to support the general ledger.Reconcile credit card transactions and ensure proper documentation.Handle corporate tax-related tasks, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.Maintain and update fixed asset records to ensure compliance.Utilize QuickBooks Online to manage and track financial data efficiently.Assist with nonprofit accounting practices, ensuring adherence to regulations and standards.Collaborate with the team to meet reporting deadlines and provide accurate financial insights.Support the preparation of financial statements and other required documentation.Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization.Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required.Strong knowledge of accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.Experience with corporate tax, sales tax, and credit card reconciliation.Familiarity with nonprofit accounting practices and related regulations.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract position.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
