Job Overview:
- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tool Maker to join our team.
- As a Tool Maker, you will be responsible for designing, building, and repairing various types of tools and equipment used in manufacturing processes.
- This is a hands-on role that requires expertise in welding, CAD, GD&T, assembly, programming, and precision measuring instruments.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build tools and fixtures according to engineering specifications
- Repair and maintain existing tools to ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to understand tooling requirements
- Operate CNC machines to fabricate tooling components
- Use CAD software to create 2D and 3D models of tool designs
- Program CAM software for CNC machining operations
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- Interpret engineering drawings and schematics to guide tool fabrication
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure tools meet specifications.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Tool Maker or similar role
- Proficiency in welding techniques for tool fabrication and repair
- Strong knowledge of CAD software for tool design
- Familiarity with GD&T principles for accurate tooling specifications
- Ability to assemble complex tools and fixtures with precision
- Experience in programming CAM software for CNC machining operations
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes
- Knowledge of CNC machining processes and operations
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics
