We are looking to hire a driven and talented mechanical designer. In this role, you will be required to communicate with customers to determine their design requirements, plan and execute the design of mechanical devices, create detailed technical drawings, and work closely with project managers and the manufacturing team to ensure that design specifications are met.

To be a successful mechanical designer, you should be mathematically and mechanically minded and have strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. A top-notch mechanical designer should possess detailed knowledge of engineering and design principles, ASME GD&T principles, and be able to find creative solutions to technical problems.


Mechanical Designer Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with customers and project managers to determine design requirements
  • Visit customers when requested by sales and project managers for quotation line-ups
  • Create concept approach for review by project manager for estimating
  • Creating CAD models and drawings using Solidworks
  • Working closely with members of project management, sales, and operations to ensure timely delivery of designed devices
  • Managing personal and project timelines
  • Being knowledgeable of ASME GD&T principles
  • Being knowledgeable of the latest advancements in technology, design trends and best practices


Mechanical Designer Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a design role
  • Proficiency with engineering design software packages, preferably Solidworks
  • Sound knowledge of ASME GD&T principles and design best practices
  • Experience working with ERP packages is a plus
  • Experience with CAM software such as Mastercam is a plus
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
