Senior Estimator – Structural Steel
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work.
- Develop full-scope estimates for various project types (Bid-Build, Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, CM/GC).
- Analyze bid documents for risks and opportunities.
- Prepare and write technical proposals for alternative delivery projects.
- Provide detailed quantity takeoffs.
- Create detailed crew and production cost estimates.
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site tours, and interviews.
- Manage subcontractor database and prequalification.
- Build effective relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups.
Requirements
- BS in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering.
- 15+ years in preconstruction/estimating and/or operations on commercial construction projects.*
- Knowledge of civil/site construction, foundation and structural systems, heavy civil, highway, rail, and transit structures.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficient in estimating software (OnScreen Takeoff, spreadsheets, bid management, online plan rooms, database applications).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD 3D, HCSS Heavy Bid.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
