HandledNow, LLC is partnered with a growing logistics company supporting major US manufacturers. They operate a high-efficiency cross-dock facility and pride themselves on their robust logistics network, supporting 11 North American plants and one overseas plant. Their operation ensures seamless transportation with multiple shuttles to four other cross-dock operations, maintaining a smooth 3-shift operation from Sunday night through Friday evening.
Position Overview: They are exclusively working with us to find an experienced and motivated Terminal Manager to lead and oversee our cross-dock operation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in logistics management, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise a 3-shift cross-dock operation, ensuring efficient and timely handling of shipments.
- Oversee a dedicated team, including 3 supervisors, 3 clerks, 2 switch truck operators, and 12 dock workers.
- Coordinate with partners to support 11 North American plants and one overseas plant.
- Ensure the seamless operation of multiple shuttles to four other cross-dock facilities.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity across all shifts.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Terminal Manager or similar role in a logistics or cross-dock environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a logistics setting.
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems.
- Knowledge of SAP
- Experience with Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory management is required.
