The position also involves offering technical support, conducting analyses, problem-solving, and contributing to project acceleration. Job Function

  • Initiate and research complex design projects.
  • Navigate design projects from planning to evaluation.
  • Utilize Windchill and Creo for CAD models and drawings.
  • Conduct stress analysis and finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Understand materials and manufacturing processes for chassis components.
  • Implement Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Develop and support Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R).
  • Oversee supplier contributions to component design and manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams and divisions.
  • Generate engineering reports and manage project documentation.
  • Address and resolve production, warranty, and quality issues proactively.
  • Maintain professionalism with all internal and external interactions.
  • Travel occasionally as required.


Qualifications

  • Preferred familiarity with heavy truck assembly, components, and systems.
  • Valued experience in designing parts and assemblies.
  • Preference for expertise in component analysis and validation methods.
  • Preferred knowledge of chassis structures, suspensions, and system design.
  • Proficiency in project management software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Quick learner, adaptable to change, with a keen problem-solving aptitude.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
