About the Role The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between lab operations and IT by analyzing, defining, and documenting requirements to facilitate effective technology solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of lab operations, along with excellent analytical and communication skills, to collaborate with stakeholders, gather requirements, and drive technology initiatives aligned with business objectives. Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) are a plus. Experience 2+ years of experience as a Systems/Business Analyst or in a similar role. Skills & Qualifications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with business process modeling, workflows, and system integrations. Knowledge of databases, SQL, and reporting tools. Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of API integrations, database structures, and automation tools is a plus. Understanding of healthcare compliance (HIPAA, CLIA) and security best practices. Experience in one or more of the following areas: Lab workflows Revenue Cycle Management Bioinformatics LIS Reporting Online Ordering Platforms Order Management Key ResponsibilitiesRequirements Gathering & Analysis Work with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into functional and technical requirements. Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate solution options. Document business processes, workflows, and system functionalities. System Design & Implementation Collaborate with developers and IT teams to design and implement solutions that optimize business operations. Develop system models, diagrams, and specifications. Test new systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure requirements are met. Project Management & Support Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams. Assist with project planning, timelines, and deliverables. Train end-users on new systems and processes. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze data trends to support business decision-making. Develop reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
