Lifeguard PositionThe City of McMinnville's Aquatic Center is in search of lifeguards who are able to work morning and mid-day shifts. Applicants must be available for weekday shifts from 5:30am-10:00am, mid-day shifts from 10:30am-1:00pm and/or 3:00pm-5:30pm. This position will work 15-25 hours per week.The ideal candidate is responsible, team-oriented, and an enthusiastic individual seeking to support our aquatic programs. While ensuring the safety of our patrons you'll build leadership skills, work with a fun team, and make a positive impact in our community. You will be trained and expected to act in compliance with these guidelines. You must have your lifeguard certification and be at least 15 years old to apply.Essential Job FunctionsLifeguardPrevent accidents and minimize or eliminate hazardous conditions.Respond quickly to all emergency situations.Comply with and enforce all policies, procedures, and regulations set by management.Administer first aid/CPR as needed.Provide a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment.Act according to professional lifeguard standards at all times.Complete all records and reports as required.Complete required monthly trainings and attend required monthly in-service training.Maintain lifeguard certification for the duration of employment in position.Perform janitorial, maintenance, and other support duties as required.QualificationsAny equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties as described. Star Guard Elite (SGE) Lifeguard Certification or equivalent, nationally recognized lifeguard certification. Must cross-over to SGE certification within three months.
