The ideal candidate for this position will provide construction management in the field of infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the construction of large and small diameter potable and non-potable water conveyance lines and pump stations
- Leads and directs the Inspection Team or performs the role of a resident engineer overseeing the construction of large-diameter high-pressure waterlines and administers the Construction Contract
- Ensures the contractor is performing the work in accordance with plans and specification
- Ensures the contractor is committed to performing the work and delivering high-quality deliverable by adhering to the fullest extent to the project plans and specifications.
- Ensures the contractor's adherence to schedule and ensures that corrective measures are taken to complete the project on time.
- Study plans and specifications requirements for completing the critical and non-critical tasks required under the approved two-week or three-week look ahead schedule, and ensure that all contractor submittals are reviewed and approved by the engineer of record before commencement with the fieldwork.
- Compares contractor submittal data to plans and ensures that work being proposed lines up completely with the planned work stated under the two or three-week lookahead schedule. The CM shall be required to ensure that the data provided by the contractor has been compared with the project plans and specifications and no potential subsurface utility is being compromised during execution
- Implement quality assurance of plans and specifications
- Perform Risk assessment and communicate findings with stakeholders and project sponsors
- Implements environmental compliance requirements and procedures
- Identify deliverables needed for approval well in advance of any work.
- Manages schedules, RFIs, costs, and changes orders
- Communicate effectively with the stakeholders and sponsors
- Perform quality assurance review before commencement with the project or prior to any projected three-week or two-weeks look ahead
- Develops and updates the project's construction risk register and identify whether the risk is transferable, eliminated, shared or completely bought by the contractor
- Prepare daily reports and progress for the project
- Maintains all construction documentation and records, Reviews and recommends for approval all CCOs and Applications for Payment.
- Determines and recommends when contractual action is necessary against a Contractor and elevates all such issues to the Client Project’s Construction Manager and CM Advisor.
- Reviews and provides preliminary approvals of schedule submittals, updates and revisions.
- Reviews and coordinates all submittals and RFI questions and responses, delegating to the Project CM Team staff where appropriate.
- Prepares monthly assessments of project status and reports.
- Facilitates and manages weekly construction progress meetings with Project CM Team and Contractor, and special meetings as required.
- Coordinates required shutdowns, testing, start-up and commissioning activities, and manages project closeout activities.
