You will be a part of the team tasked with guiding the organization through sophisticated issues related to strategic partnerships and M&A. In addition, you will play a role in the end-to-end deal process from sourcing to integration across Vanguard business lines.
Create value through new partnerships
This role will support key activities related to possible strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions and will report directly to the Head of Mergers & Acquisitions and Partnerships. The ideal candidate knows how to build and foster strong external networks, work cross-functionally with internal teams, support partnership negotiations and due diligence, and execute inorganic transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess, and evaluate partnership opportunities by delivering both quantitative and qualitative analyses, including financial models and scenario analysis, to estimate potential value, recommend inorganic growth and partnership opportunities, and gain consensus on strategy and investment theses that align with Vanguard’s business goals and strategic priorities.
- Support the negotiation of business terms and partnership agreements, including drafting term sheets and long-form agreements to structure and close partnership deals.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate in-depth market research, analyses, and detailed financial models to senior partners.
- Work independently with attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines. Lead individual workstreams of a deal and contribute to larger deal team.
- Coach less experienced crew in financial methodologies, partnership and M&A frameworks and approaches, and inorganic growth standard methodologies based on deep knowledge of emerging trends and industry standards.
- Strong conceptual thinking and time management, as well as analytical, problem solving, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years related work experience. Two years’ experience in strategic partnerships, corporate development, management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or similar field required. Prior experience with strategic partnerships and M&A required.
- Undergraduate degree required in Business, Economics, Finance, or similar concentration. Graduate degree preferred.
