JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support process engineering, design, manufacturing, and quality teams focused on root cause corrective actions found from the failure analysis and part qualifications.
Supports a world class manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, which maintains an ISO accredited certified quality environment.
Document and work with laboratory, internal quality engineers, external suppliers and customers.
Perform metallography, microscopy, fractography, non-destructive evaluation, SEM/EDS analysis and interpretation, mechanical testing including tensile and Charpy testing, hardness testing and various other aspects of destructive testing.
Perform failure analysis of parts returned from customers as well as qualifying parts based off their metallurgical specifications and requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree metallurgical or materials science engineering with 3+ years’ experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Experience with Fractography.
Experience with Microscopy.
Experience with Metallography.
Experience with Non-Destructive Evaluation.
Experience with Mechanical testing.
Experience with Hardness testing.
Experience with SEM / EDS.
Microsoft Office experience.
SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:
Decision making and critical thinking.
