Senior Analyst - BudgetAbout the Job: In this position, you will perform complex professional and analytical duties in support of the City's Finance Department. You will also plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate systems and procedures.Job Type: Full timeWork Location: City Administrative Building, 30 S Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, USALearn more about the department: https://coloradosprings.gov/financeThis position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year, and any furloughs subsequently approved.As a Senior Analyst, you will:Analyze proposed capital, personnel, operating, and maintenance expenditure budgetsAnalyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and make recommendationsReview and analyze technical documents and proposalsTrack and analyze budget expenditures, operational issues, and financing requirementsMaintain detailed records; prepare professional reports and develop presentations of composite dataRecommend and develop reports and analyses related to the impact of budgetary decisionsDevelop multi-year revenue forecasts; prepare and analyze financial and fiscal reports; and analyze statistical dataAssist with the development, coordination, and preparation of the annual budget and the Annual Comprehensive Financial ReportRecommend and participate in various organizational studies and analysesLead complex projects that may include cost allocation, fiscal impact analyses and capital project planningCoordinate the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of information and dataCoordinate project activities with other City departments, divisions, boards, committees, task forces, external organizations, and the publicWe are looking for candidates who demonstrate: Knowledge of:The policies affecting budgetary, fiscal record-keeping, and data management proceduresBudget preparation and administrationPertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulationsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to:Establish and maintain effective working relationshipsPerform job duties with a high degree of accuracyWork effectively in a team environmentCommunicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writingMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related area of study.Five years of full-time, professional experience in a related fieldPreferred Qualifications:Proficiency using Microsoft Office SuiteExperience working in a municipal government environmentPlease contact Katie McLaughlin at katie.mclaughlin@coloradosprings.gov for any questions about this position.Equal Opportunity EmployerThe City of Colorado Springs is committed to a culture that values our employees' unique individual qualities and fosters an inclusive environment where people want to be.The City of Colorado Springs offers additional compensation depending on the position, area of assignment, and specific job assignments, including shift differential, pay differential, acting or lead, special assignment, hazard pay, longevity, cell phone allowance, uniform allowance, relocation, awards, standby, call out, compensatory time off, tuition, overtime, extra duty, incentive, holiday premium, proficiency, and vacation sell back.
