Job DescriptionPosition Summary: The Security Systems Technician Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining and advancing the physical security infrastructure of the organization. This position demands a strong technical foundation, with hands-on responsibility for installing, configuring, and maintaining complex Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). The analyst provides technical and analytical support to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities across various alarm and access control platforms, including Hirsch, Vindicator, and Honeywell systems. Effective communication is essential, as the Technician Analyst will work closely with support personnel, the maintenance department, and other internal stakeholders to ensure coordinated, reliable security operations. The ideal candidate must conduct continual reviews of regulatory compliance and industry standards, including Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) guidelines, and 32 CFR Part 117 the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). The analyst will collaborate with security managers to strengthen threat mitigation strategies and support ongoing security initiatives. The successful candidates should have a working knowledge of physical security systems and display intermediate technical proficiency. Applicants must be willing to complete prescribed training courses, determined by Security Managers based on a thorough review of the candidate's background, qualifications, and relevant certifications. Completion of designated training modules must be achieved within 1 year. What you will be doing: Maintain necessary certifications to conduct maintenance, installation as prescribed by Hirsch, Vindicator, and Honeywell Design, procure, install, program and perform preventative maintenance for the IDS Evaluate new Intrusion Detection components and provide recommendations to management Review and mark up of Security Procedures during procedure updates Assist with Security Risk Assessments of sites and or designated assets Conduct Management Assessments of the Safeguards & Security (S&S) Program Conduct change evaluation based on needed updates to security related documents Develops and maintains the false/nuisance (FAR/NAR) tracking and trending process and provides periodic reports as directed by management. Maintains the physical security systems life cycle management process. Conduct Security walkdowns for potential issues with IDS Must be able to respond to emergency call-in Ability to travel and aid other facilities that support the enterprises' mission Work with limited direct oversite This position must obtain and maintain a "Q" security clearance Additional duties as assigned by management Position Requirements: Associate's degree in security, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field or equivalent professional experience Must obtain within 12 months or currently have professionally recognized certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security, NICET, Cisco CCNA, or Honeywell) Proficiency in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IDS and electronic security technologies Have hands-on experience with Hirsch, Vindicator, Honeywell, or similar high-security platforms Basic understanding of electrical schematics, system integration, and physical/network security principles Security Knowledge Working knowledge of DOE Orders and NRC requirements Solid understanding of the 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Ability to conduct residual risk assessments and document findings using approved frameworks Documentation & Compliance Skilled in maintaining comprehensive records of maintenance activities, technical evaluations, and corrective actions Ability to generate analytical reports and performance audits for review by regulatory bodies Soft Skills Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking abilities Effective communication and collaboration within a cross-functional security team Adaptability and resilience in high-security, fast-paced environments In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government.
