In this role, you will be responsible for assessing patients' physical and mental capabilities, developing personalized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic activities to enhance their overall well-being.
You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and speech therapists, to coordinate and execute multidisciplinary treatment plans.
ResponsibilitiesAssess patients' physical, mental, and emotional status to determine their individual needs and goals for therapy.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, in collaboration with the patient, their family, and the healthcare team.
Utilize various therapeutic techniques, such as exercise, hands-on therapy, and assistive devices, to improve patients' functional abilities.
Monitor patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
Educate patients and their families on the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices to promote independence in everyday activities.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and ensure continuity of treatment.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all therapy sessions, progress notes, and treatment plans.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Valid state license or certification as an Occupational Therapist.
Proven experience working in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting.
In-depth knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and interventions.
Demonstrated ability to assess and evaluate patients' needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy.
