The software engineer will design, develop, integrate, and test software that manages a Space payload unit ensuring compliance to established requirements. Selected individuals will work on an agile development team, primarily using C++, Linux and/or Python. This role will support Remote Sensing Programs (RSP) Business Unit in Linthicum, MD. The individual will work through all phases of the software development cycle including design, development, integration, and test. The selected individual will conduct reviews of software-related products, software designs, and additional technical documents. The responsibilities include active participation in cross-functional scrum teams, design reviews, and other reviews, as required. The selected individual will actively participate in technical, peer-reviews to ensure system/software requirements are being met from an end-to-end system point of view. Individuals must be self-starters and able to efficiently operate in a team environment.Principal Software Engineering Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with 5+ years software development experience working on embedded real-time systems or 3+ years with a master's degreeExperience in developing in C++ and/or PythonExperience in embedded software developmentExperience developing in a Linux and/or Windows environmentU.S. CitizenshipNo clearance is required to start, but you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with SCISr. Principal Software Engineer Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of software development experience working on embedded real-time systems or 6+ years with a master's degree or 3+ years with a Ph.D.Experience in developing in C++ and/or PythonExperience in embedded software developmentExperience developing in a Linux and/or Windows environmentU.S. CitizenshipNo clearance is required to start, but you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with SCIPreferred Qualifications:Experience as a member of an Agile Scrum teamExperience with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)Experience in embedded C++ optimizationsHands on hardware integration and testing experienceAbility to debug complex integrated applications or test setup issuesActive TS/SCI ClearanceSalary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00 Salary Range 2: $131,000.00 - $196,700.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
