Our client, a reputable and busy law firm based in Atlanta with a regional office in Columbus, Georgia, specializing in various areas of law, including real estate law is seeking a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join their team because of growth.


Position Overview:

The Associate Attorney position will primarily focus on residential and commercial real estate law and closings. The ideal candidate will be either barred in the state of Georgia or pending bar results, with 0-2 years of relevant experience in real estate law.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to real estate transactions for both residential and commercial properties.
  • Manage and oversee the closing process for real estate transactions, including conducting title searches, preparing closing documents, coordinating with lenders and other parties, and ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Conduct thorough legal research on real estate laws, regulations, and precedents to provide accurate and timely legal advice and support to clients and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, lenders, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to address inquiries, provide updates, and ensure smooth and successful real estate transactions.
  • Assist in conducting due diligence investigations for real estate transactions, including reviewing title reports, surveys, zoning regulations, and environmental assessments.
  • Prepare and file legal documents with courts and regulatory agencies as needed for real estate transactions and related matters.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Barred in the state of Georgia or pending bar results.
  • 0-2 years of experience in real estate law, including residential and commercial transactions (experience gained through internships or clerkships is acceptable).
  • Strong knowledge of real estate laws, regulations, and procedures in Georgia.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and colleagues.
