Apply today We look forward to meeting you.The RoleOutsourcing of structural assemblies and manufactured parts & assemblies is a key lever to support the growing demand of Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) contracts. The NNS Outsourcing department within Supply Chain Management (SCM) is looking to hire a strategic leader accountable for Program Management of component outsourcing. Candidate must have experience in setting and operating to objectives as well as providing guidance to team members based on goals, objectives and company policies.The Program Manager responsibilities include: planning, risk management, and project performance addressing schedule, and technical quality for related shop and strategic deliverables. Assist shop leadership with capacity and capability analysis offloads to help maintain shop schedule, cost and performance to CDD. Provide leadership strategies to manage the vendor base of outsourced material for all shop work. Previous knowledge and experience with planning, outsourcing, and Office L/H is preferred. Previous working experience with SFA and CFA leadership teams is preferred. Ability to communicate and provide clear guidance on prioritizing work across multiple programs to ensure appropriate emphasis is provided for all outsourced deliverables. Review/Mitigate risk of overloading vendors and provide a clear path to ensure new vendors are onboarded to support NNS outsourcing needs. Manage a direct staff responsible for ensuring the supply base remains in compliance with cost, quality, and schedule. Provide monthly reports of sub-contracted items and labor hours to shop and production control. Provide analysis of outsourcing patterns and develop strategies capable of supporting accelerated delivery schedules across multiple programs.
