Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department Job Specialty: Emergency Department Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 15:00-03:00 Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in emergency department nursing License: Active RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: - Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred - Competency in utilizing the nursing process - Ability to assess and address complex patient needs - Skill in medication administration and treatment monitoring - Strong communication and patient education capabilities - Knowledge of federal, state, and local healthcare-related laws and regulations Job Description: - Independently practice nursing in the emergency department setting, demonstrating competency in all aspects of care. - Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process for assigned patients. - Administer medications, treatments, and document patient history and care provided. - Assess and address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. - Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on health-related topics. - Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and meet patient needs effectively. - Facilitate patient flow processes to ensure timely admission, discharge, and transfer. - Participate in unit operations including staffing assessment and resource planning. - Ensure patient safety practices are implemented to promote positive patient outcomes. - Use evidence-based practice to deliver high-quality nursing care. - Document patient information accurately across the care continuum. - Maintain and troubleshoot medical equipment to ensure patient safety. - Interpret patient charts, recognize abnormalities, and collaborate with healthcare team members. - Demonstrate knowledge of safety guidelines and procedures for patient care.
