As a Lead Datacenter Operations Technician, you will oversee critical business and batch processes, lead projects, and guide operators in resolving and preventing issues. You will collaborate with support teams for problem resolution, requiring availability for ten-hour shifts on weekends and holidays to ensure production continuity. Below is an example of the rotating three-week schedule.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead data center projects and perform analyses
  • Monitor and resubmit FTP file transmissions
  • Oversee zOS server and iSeries production activities
  • Adjust schedules to maintain performance and monitor system consoles and environmental equipment
  • Print, sort, and distribute checks and reports
  • Conduct training sessions and maintain documentation
  • Record and execute accurate shift turnovers
  • Monitor the daily production schedule
  • Provide support for critical issues and create incident tickets for batch process failures
  • Collaborate with programmers and production services
  • Ensure compliance with security, regulatory (SOX), and corporate standards and policies
  • Monitor and ensure the completion of all batch SLAs
  • Oversee critical systems for enterprise-wide issues
  • Participate in bridge calls and annual disaster recovery tests
  • Keep documentation and procedures up to date


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; a degree in Computer Science is preferred
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in data center operations
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Flexible working hours as needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting


Rotating Three-Week Schedule:

  • Week 1: Monday - Thursday
  • Week 2: Tuesday, Friday - Sunday
  • Week 3: Monday, Wednesday - Friday
