Job Overview

The Market Sales Lead's primary focus is to oversee and implement an efficient direct store delivery sales program in Des Moines, IA. Key responsibilities include delivery route driving 3-5 days per week, route scheduling & optimization, coordination with wholesale/retail store deliveries, and ensuring flawless in-store execution while building strong rapport with key customer stakeholders. The Market Sales Lead is responsible for elevating service levels and merchandising programs with key strategic retail partners in Des Moines, IA and surrounding areas.

We are a scaling organization and this role requires DSD driving, process management, active selling, and a high level of team collaboration. We are searching for a candidate who is independent, entrepreneurial-minded, and possesses a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and external customers to troubleshoot and elevate their experience with our brand. This role reports to the VP of Retailer Sales.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create, lead, and optimize the Iowa direct store delivery program to meet company revenue goals and KPI plans
  • Be the face of the direct store delivery program – building strong relationships with buyers, distributers, store staff, and merchandising teams to build the brand
  • Operate as a delivery route driver 3-5 days per week
  • Partner with the internal sales and marketing team, retail store teams, and external wholesale grocery managers to implement point of sale creative, promotional displays, and support sampling events to drive excellence and increase confidence in our brand
  • Work with sales leadership to execute on alignment of customer needs to assortment, merchandising programs, and company growth plans



Desired Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Business, sales operations or related education and experience
  • 3+ years of relevant direct store delivery sales experience, beverage industry experience a plus
  • Excellent customer service abilities and account relationship management aptitude
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills, and an exceptional team player
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills (Excel & PowerPoint required)
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Results-oriented with a high sense of urgency and ability to multi-task
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Ability to lift 25-50 pounds on a regular basis as well as routinely enter and exit a delivery vehicle.
