We are looking for talented and highly-motivated individuals who demonstrate a natural desire to support the meaningful work of community oncologists and the patients we serve.Job DescriptionAPP Manager provides direct oversight to inpatient and outpatient APPs within specific region(s). Provides additional administrative functions such as recruiting, training, orientation, and evaluation of APPs within assigned region/service line, participation in policy reviews, committee involvement and compliance along with other administrative duties within the scope.Essential Functions:Assists with maintaining advanced practice guidelines by developing and updating policies and procedures. Ensures APP compliance with state regulatory documentation, notice and formulary, and collaborative practice guidelines.Collaborates with the Exec. Director/Regional Director of APPs, with nursing operations and key stakeholders by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.Assures quality of care by assisting the Exec. Director/Regional Director of APPs with developing and interpreting advanced practice provider policies and standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments.Assists with maintaining advanced practice provider staff by recruiting, selecting, scheduling onboarding, orientation, and training for new staff within their region/service line.Manages APP schedules, Tiger Roles, time off calendar, PTO approval, expense approval, occurrences, annual merit, annual evaluation, and updates APP master list.Assists with monthly allocation for professional service agreements, on-call services, and reports.Manages projects, APP initiatives, and/or duties requested by the Exec. Director of Advanced Practice ProvidersProvides administrative oversight of the assigned functions of the Exec. Director of Advanced Practice Providers including APP role development, research compliance, updates, compliance with BLS and RN/APN/PA licensure renewals.Ensure well trained and adequate numbers of staff to provide excellent care to our patients through overseeing ongoing training and continuing medical education, periodic performance evaluations and other measures to promote provider retention.Ensure highest quality evidenced based care to patients by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising patient outcomes.Establishes a compassionate environment by providing support to advanced practice providers.Promotes advanced practice provider independence and job satisfaction by encouraging professional practice goals from each APP. These goals are discussed and modified periodically to meet the needs of the provider and the organization.Assists with providing information to the organization, and health care team regarding advanced practitioners by communicating new provider onboarding, internal transfers, and resignations. Serves as a liaison to Directors, operations managers, credentialing, revenue cycle management, care communication team, and enterprise project management team by answering questions and requests.Utilize multidisciplinary team approaches within the organization, involving advanced practice providers in patient care decision making and opportunities for growth of the organization.Encourage ongoing learning and maintenance of professional and technical knowledge through attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.Assists the Exec. Director of APPs to provide leadership and oversight to include onboarding, interviewing, scheduling, continuing education approvals, expense requests, time off requests and evaluation of annual performance of APPs within assigned region/service line.Works in collaboration with the physicians and clinic managers for input on advanced practice providers' performance, time keeping, and ongoing education.Coordinates and conducts regular 1:1 meeting with direct reports, MD/APP team, TO committees, with minutes kept for review.Assists with regular updates of policies and procedures for advanced practice providers, conduct biannual review and update of the APP collaborative practice guidelines, provides updates for any state/federal law changes for NPs/PA's including state BON/ Medical board with formularies and CSMD updates.Clinical:Collects, documents, and analyzes patient data; collaborates in the development and implementation of treatment plans; coordinates patient care with ancillary clinical services; makes appropriate referrals to consulting medical staff; provides follow up to referring physicians; may orient or precept students and new staff.Conducts comprehensive health assessments, identifies normal/abnormal health characteristics, develops treatment plans, initiates appropriate care, and continuously evaluates care outcomes.May also perform delegated functions under the supervision of the physician, e.g. differential diagnosis, use of prescriptive authority, and/or treatment of a variety of human responses throughout the wellness to illness spectrum according to practice guidelines, protocols or standing orders.Use judgment to work autonomously as defined by the nurse practice act, or to collaborate with the healthcare team to manage client care throughout the continuum of care and in a variety of settings.Serves as a clinical resource, utilizing advanced nursing knowledge and critical thinking skills to act as interdisciplinary consultant and client advocate.Provides nursing, education and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic disease.Accepts accountability for outcomes resulting from APP policies and procedures.Promotes quality health care through the integration of current evidence-based research into practice.Follows the Tennessee Oncology Advanced Practice Provider Collaborative Guidelines when caring for patients.Prepares admission orders and admits patients to the hospital when requested by the supervising physician.Initiates and maintains medical forms located in medical records. (i.e., medication list, laboratory flow card, problem list, etc.)Reviews lab results and radiology reports as requested by the supervising physician.Relays appropriate and pertinent information regarding patient care to the supervising physician.Demonstrates professionalism and accountability.Serves on committees to represent advanced practice providers within the organization.Maintains clinical expertise through formal and informal educational programs.Maintains certification through American Nursing Credentialing Center or American Association of Nurse Practitioners for APN.Maintains clinical practice 4 days/week. FTE 0.2 AdministrativeEducation & Experience:Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee.Master's degree or higher in nursing or Physician AssistantNational certification as NP (American Nurses' Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners) or Clinical Nurse Specialist who meets criteria for certification of fitness to prescribe medications, including AOCN, AOCNP, AOCNS required, or Physician Assistant.Must have minimum 2 years clinical oncology/surgical experience as an advanced practice provider with TN Oncology or at least 4 years of clinical oncology/surgical experience as an APP.Prior management experience preferred.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to foster a positive team culture and mentor team members.Experience with performance management, including conducting annual reviews and developing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).Experience with collecting, analyzing, and reporting provider metrics.Familiarity with Quality Improvement initiatives and data-driven decision-making.Experience with budget management, expense approvals, and financial oversight.Experience with Excel, SharePoint, Workday, Policy Stat, Monday.com.Must be full time employee with company.Travel is required.Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
