Sitka Counseling is a mental health and substance abuse service provider that aims to prevent and reduce the harmful effects of mental illness in the lives of youth, adults, and families. We provide caring, professional, therapeutic, and preventative services with an emphasis on welcoming all clients and eliminating arbitrary barriers to initial engagement. Our goal is to help each client connect to a suitable program as quickly as possible.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a BH Clinician. The BH Clinician will provide assessments, individual and group therapy, crisis management, and treatment planning to clients with mental health and substance abuse concerns.

Qualifications
  • Clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for clients with mental health and substance abuse concerns
  • Experience in providing individual and group therapy
  • Crisis management skills
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment for mental health and substance abuse disorders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Alaska as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
  • Cultural competency and experience working with diverse populations is a plus
