Cloud Software EngineerPeraton has an immediate opportunity for a Cloud Software Engineer to join our Cyber Intel team here in Laurel, MD As a Cloud Software Engineer, you are expected to perform requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution at a high level of proficiency and independence. You are expected to communicate directions and provide guidance to more junior programmer/analysts, as required. Cloud Software Engineers must be adept at developing solutions which integrated or extended COTS or GOTS products. Additionally, Software Engineers may be responsible for evaluating project needs, determining tasks and durations, and generating and reviewing designs for technical accuracy, completeness.We are seeking someone with the below characteristics and competencies:Willingness to be a committer/contributor to open source applicationsJava programming for distributed systems, with experience in networking and multi-threadingApache HadoopApache AccumuloApache NiFiAgile development experienceWell-grounded in Linux fundamentals and knowledge in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.)Experience with source code management practices and toolsEnabling tools: Git, Maven, JiraContinuous Integration / Continuous Testing: Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab Cl/PipelinesContinuous Monitoring: ELK Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana), NagiosFamiliarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)Position Education and Experience Requirements:Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is requiredShall have at least eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolutionA Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is required An additional four (4) years of experience can be considered over the degree.
