The best experiences provide true immersion in a company's culture, access to and networking with senior leaders and industry experts, opportunities to apply what you learn through real work that drives real results, and a fun and engaging cohort to share the experience withWith this in mind, we've crafted our program to allow you to engage directly in our values driven culture through company, department, and cohort events, all while being challenged with a blend of learning programs, informative networking sessions with IMA associates, and opportunities to engage in department specific work projects that have real world impact for our clients, our business, and our associates.As an intern, your time will be divided between a core program shared with the entire cohort and specialized work, projects, and programming tailored to the department you join.The Diversified and Construction team is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for an intern in our 2026 summer program This role offers the chance to gain valuable experience at the Overland Park office, under a typical 5 day in-office work week.Daily responsibilities will include:Split time between the Diversified team and the Construction team to support a wide range of client and carrier needs.Participate in carrier meetings and client meetings to observe communication, gather information, and strengthen industry knowledge.Assist with Excel-based tasks, including updating auto lists and organizing data for internal use and client presentations.Create proposal materials by developing rough draft documents and assembling key data for review by the account team.Support the proposal-building process from initial data collection to preparing polished drafts for client delivery.We're proud of the success many of our former interns have had when they've pursued careers as IMA associates' post-graduation and see our internship program as a key talent pipeline. Because of this, preference is given to students closer to graduation, who demonstrate a curiosity about future employment within our industry.You should have:Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in a program related to one of our host departments (Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management and Insurance)Interest in insurance-related roles; involvement in insurance clubs or Gamma Iota SigmaStudents anticipated to graduate in Spring 2026, December 2026, or Spring 2027Previous work or internship experience in a professional services or similar environmentAn entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to problem-solve, think critically, and provide creative solutionsThis internship is designed as a learning and development opportunity and does not include participation in the medical, dental, and vision insurance, and any other benefits program that are provided solely to regular full-time associates. You will, however, enjoy IMA paid holidays and five days of LifeBalance PTO during your internship. The LifeBalance PTO is inclusive of vacation, sick time or personal time.This position is classified as nonexempt and is paid on an hourly basis. The hourly pay range for IMA interns is 18.00 to 22.00 dollars and is determined by your expected graduating year.
