Primary Focus:
To provide exceptional patient care by assisting with daily activities, ensuring comfort, and supporting the healthcare team with vital tasks to maintain patient health and safety.
Key Job Duties:
Patient Care and Assistance
  1. Deliver compassionate care by addressing patient calls and determining the appropriate response to their needs.
  2. Support patients with daily activities such as:
    • Bathing, dressing, grooming, and maintaining personal hygiene.
    • Assisting with mobility (e.g., getting out of bed, walking, standing, exercising).
    • Helping patients use the toilet or managing incontinence care.
  3. Turn and reposition bedridden patients to prevent pressure sores.
Nutritional Support
  1. Ensure patients receive proper nutrition by reviewing dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
  2. Measure and record food and liquid intake and monitor urinary and fecal output.
Monitoring and Reporting
  1. Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate.
  2. Examine patients to identify health concerns, such as open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.
  3. Communicate observations of patient behavior, symptoms, or complaints to the medical or nursing staff.
Collaboration with Healthcare Teams
  1. Obtain critical patient information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses to align with treatment plans and activities.
  2. Remind patients to take medications and nutritional supplements as prescribed.
Documentation and Compliance
  1. Record and report changes in patient condition to the appropriate staff promptly.
  2. Stay current with CNA training and comply with facility policies and procedures.
