DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 1, your responsibilities include maintaining and repairing public buildings and equipment. You will use trade skills at the sub-journey level to maintain and repair public buildings and equipment. Work involves minor repair jobs of routine nature skills, such as unclogging drains, fixing leaky faucets, and replacing light bulbs, shades, and switches. This role requires self-motivation to manage tasks and complete daily repairs independently. While working alone, you will closely collaborate with Maintenance Repairman 2s and Park Maintenance Supervisors to ensure you have the confidence to understand the necessary procedures, policies, and regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal Full-time employment without benefits.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position may require you to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:
  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver‘s non-commercial driver‘s license.
