Galena Veterinary Care is a privately owned, newly constructed state of the art practice located in quaint downtown Galena, Ohio. We are currently a one doctor practice, with the expectation to expand as we grow. Our business hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8-5:30 with no evenings or weekend hours. We utilize Idexx diagnostics, Ezyvet cloud based software as well as digital ultrasound and radiography. We are currently looking to add a full time licensed Veterinary Technician to our team. As a licensed technician, you will utilize your knowledge and skills to the fullest extent. We are an easy going team who value work-life balance and look to support and encourage each other while providing excellent care to our patients and clients. At Galena Veterinary Care we truly pride ourselves in our innovative and compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Assist DVM with examinations, procedures, treatments
- Obtain thorough intake histories and document accordingly
- Educate and communicate effectively with clients
- Induce and monitor patients under general anesthesia and during sedated procedures
- Obtain blood samples, place IV catheters, as well as administer medications and treatments appropriately
- Perform in house laboratory testing and prepare send out samples
- Schedule appointments, create invoices and provide estimates
- Ability to restrain and lift patients
