Job Title: Supervisor, Mammography

Location: Duluth, Georgia


Job Summary:

The Supervisor of Mammography is responsible for directing and coordinating the daily operations of the mammography department, ensuring efficient management of budget, personnel, patient care, and regulatory compliance. This role involves liaising between the department and referring physicians, and may involve working with a diverse patient population, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The Supervisor also performs Technologist duties as needed and demonstrates a commitment to safety and service excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Interview, train, orient, counsel, and evaluate staff; administer disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Recommend hiring decisions and disciplinary actions to the manager.
  • Schedule personnel, approve paid time off (PTO), and authorize time and attendance.

Budget and Financial Oversight:

  • Assist the Manager in developing and monitoring capital and operating budgets for the cost center.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Monitor the quality of scans and procedures within the department.
  • Support the Manager in developing and administering the Quality Improvement Plan and departmental policies and procedures.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Report on equipment, personnel, and other departmental issues through management team meetings and written reports.

Technologist Duties:

  • Regularly perform the duties and responsibilities of a Technologist (NM, US, or IR).

Safety and Protocol:

  • Adhere to safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Immediately report any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or injuries to the Manager.

Service Excellence:

  • Demonstrate service excellence in interactions with customers, coworkers, patients, visitors, physicians, and other stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist, with certification in Radiography and Mammography (R.T.(R)(M)(ARRT)).
  • Competency in performing stereotactic procedures and/or quality control specific to mammography.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers from the American Heart Association (CPR and AED).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Mammography Technologist.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience.
