Source One is a staffing services company and we’re currently recruiting for the following individual to work as a permanent employee of our direct client, a specialty insurance company in Tampa, FL. This company is currently moving from a legacy environment to a 100% cloud based and automated platform. This is an exciting opportunity to help develop and architect a new platform from a clean slate


** This is a permanent position, so we are unable to work with third party companies (C2C or otherwise).


We are seeking an experienced Lead Developer with a background in full stack development, and a particularly strong focus on backend systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of our software applications, ensuring robust and scalable solutions are implemented.


Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of developers in designing and implementing scalable backend solutions.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architecture.

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs to support front end applications and third-party integrations.

• Implement DevSecQAOps principles to enhance the security, reliability, and scalability of our applications.

• Integrate Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs) into development and operational processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

• Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration.

• Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks.

• Stay current with industry trends and best practices, and drive adoption of new technologies where appropriate.

• Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.


Requirements:

• 5-7 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on backend technologies. Integration layer expertise is very important.

• Strong proficiency in backend development languages including C#, .NET or Python.

• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

• Solid understanding of web technologies, APIs, and microservices architecture.

• Experience integrating both DevSecQAOps practices and ITGCs into the organization's IT processes, emphasizing security, compliance, and operational efficiency as key priorities.

• Experience with Azure cloud platform (AWS and Google Cloud a plus).

• An understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance is required.

• Full stack and familiarity with front end development frameworks and technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) is a plus.

• Proven track record of leading projects from inception to deployment.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
