This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and strong leadership capabilities to manage and mentor a team of product managers while delivering innovative platform solutions that enable business growth and customer success.The Product Director will work cross-functionally with engineering, design, data engineers, and business stakeholders to define and execute the platform product roadmap, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market needs. This role requires balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, customer empathy with business acumen, and innovation with operational excellence.ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high performance across the platform product organizationDefine and communicate the product vision and strategy for platform services, aligning with broader company goals and market opportunitiesOwn the end-to-end product lifecycle for platform products, from ideation through launch and ongoing optimizationDevelop and maintain comprehensive product roadmaps that balance customer needs, business objectives, and technical feasibilityDrive cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, data teams, and business teams to deliver high-quality platform solutionsEstablish and track key product metrics, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and measure product successConduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer discovery to identify opportunities and inform product strategyPrioritize features and initiatives based on impact, effort, and strategic alignmentCommunicate product plans, progress, and results to executive leadership and key stakeholdersChampion customer needs and platform best practices across the organizationPartner with engineering leadership to ensure technical excellence and scalability of platform solutionsManage stakeholder relationships and expectations, navigating complex organizational dynamicsContribute to the broader product organization's strategy and operational excellenceDrive platform adoption and engagement across internal and external customersMinimum Qualifications8+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing products3+ years of experience managing and developing product management teamsProven track record of successfully launching and scaling platform products or servicesStrong technical background with ability to engage deeply with engineering teams on architecture and implementation decisionsDemonstrated experience developing product strategy and translating it into actionable roadmapsExperience working in fast-paced, high-growth technology environmentsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong data-driven decision-making capabilitiesOutstanding communication and presentation skills with ability to influence senior stakeholdersBA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experiencePreferred QualificationsMS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MBA, or related field10+ years of product management experience with increasing scope and responsibilityExperience in fintech, financial services, or regulated industriesBackground in software engineering, solutions architecture, or technical product rolesExperience with API products, developer platforms, or infrastructure servicesTrack record of building products that serve both internal and external customersExperience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product development frameworksDemonstrated success in stakeholder management across diverse organizational levelsExperience scaling product teams and establishing product management best practicesKnowledge of cloud platforms, microservices architecture, and modern development practicesKey Attributes For SuccessStrategic Thinking: Ability to see the big picture while maintaining attention to critical details; can translate vision into actionable plansTechnical Depth: Strong technical acumen to evaluate architectural tradeoffs and engage credibly with engineering teamsLeadership: Proven ability to inspire, develop, and retain high-performing product management talentCustomer Obsession: Deep empathy for customer needs with commitment to delivering exceptional user experiencesData-Driven: Comfortable with quantitative analysis and using data to inform decisions and measure impactCommunication Excellence: Clear, concise communicator who can tailor messages for technical and non-technical audiencesCollaboration: Natural ability to build relationships and work effectively across organizational boundariesAdaptability: Thrives in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and can pivot quickly based on new informationExecution Focus: Bias for action with strong ability to drive projects from concept to completionBusiness Acumen: Understanding of business models, go-to-market strategies, and financial metrics that drive success
