If that sounds like an environment in which you will thrive, Carpenter Co.'s summer internship program could be a great fit for you Carpenter Co. has an 11-week Research and Development summer internship at our Reinhart Technical Center in Richmond, Virginia. This full-time internship position will begin May 26, 2026. As the successful intern, you will be providing support to the Sustainability group by conducting research under the guidance and supervision of a senior mentor. Throughout the internship, you will gain experience and understanding of how fundamental engineering can translate into real world sustainability opportunities. Your additional responsibilities as Research Intern will include: Update software template to streamline data collection and improve robustness Complete site-level sustainability data profiles of North American Carpenter facilities Interpret data and draw conclusions Document findings in report format Skills/ RequirementsMinimum H.S. diploma or equivalent Completion of 2 years of college or university in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering with minimum 2.75 GPA Basic understanding and use of Microsoft Office suite Strong research, analytical and communication skills Important Notes Carpenter Co. is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or other legally protected characteristic.
