GENERAL PURPOSE: The primary responsibilities of the Design Manager includes working closely with the Design Director to design and re-envision existing and prospective tenant storefronts, create prospective project site plans, conceptual design massing models, storefronts and renderings in Autocad, Revit, Sketch-up and Adobe Photoshop; create lease exhibits; maintain lease plans; archive drawings, details and photos; and develop graphics for prospective tenant leasing packages. The Project Design Manager collaborates closely with the Leasing, Development, Tenant Services and Construction departments providing design, architectural detail and project management assistance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow differently-abled individuals to perform the essential functions of the job. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Coordinate with Leasing Team to maintain the property merchandising lease plans by primarily incorporating tenant space layouts into autocad plans.
· Develop numerous lease outline drawings and lease plan exhibits in a timely manner.
· Coordinate with Consultant Design and Production Architects to maintain and manage accuracy of autocad lease and merchandising plans.
· Work with Design Director to create, revise and maintain current color photoshop elevations, renderings and plans for each property.
· Create and/or revise tenant specific elevations and perspectives in photoshop, sketchup and/or revit.
· Complete site visits to existing and prospective properties to verify site conditions, including signage and landscape amenities.
· Work with Design Director, Development and Acquisitions Team to create prospective project site plans, plan studies, and building models using hand sketching, autocad and sketchup and/or revit.
· Collect relevant planning codes for prospective projects to assure conformance with local codes.
· Work with Design Director to create conceptual to schematic to design development drawing sets for prototypical project buildings.
· Work with Design Director to develop and catalog company design standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.
The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications:
• Possess a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture.
• Two year minimum experience with AutoCAD Architecture & Revit.
• Two year minimum experience with Sketch-up & its compatible Rendering plugins i.e. Lumion.
• Strong design, site planning skills specifically translating hand drawn sketches into cad drawings.
• Strong Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop to create colored storefront renderings.
• Strong Proficiency in hand sketching of site plans and building perspectives.
• Strong communication, problem solving and research skills.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
• Strong interest in computer drawing and retail development.
• Strong interest in project and construction management.
• Possess a positive attitude and an eye for detail.
• Be able to work independently with deadlines.
• Be able to collaborate efficiently with different departments.
• Be able to travel to CenterCal shopping centers to complete onsite verification and research.
