Architect III - must possess a complete knowledge of the practice of architecture with emphasis on design, building materials, construction methods, construction sequencing, integration of engineering disciplines, and building costs/codes.

·        Education:

o  Bachelor or Master of Architecture Degree from accredited architectural program (NAAB)

o  Licensed in a minimum of (1) State

·        Technical Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

o  Proficient computer knowledge of Revit, Autocad, SketchUp, Microsoft Windows based systems.

o  Proficient knowledge of federal, state, and local building and energy codes.

o  Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills.

o  Complete understanding of the preparation of Construction Drawing.

o  Understands construction sequencing.

o  Excellent problem solving, negotiation, and consulting skills.

o  Ability to create new ideas, both independently and in collaboration.

o  Ability to clearly communicate with clients, colleagues, consultants, contractors, and material suppliers.

o  Ability to translate client input and directives into architectural designs.

o  Ability to determine next steps for a project and plan the critical path for task completion.

o  Ability to work on multiple small/medium projects at various stages of development.

o  Ability to maintain client confidentiality when required or requested.

o  Knowledge of the requirements for performance under the General Conditions of the Contract for Construction – AIA A201 and other relevant AIA documents.

·        Key Roles/Responsibilities:

o  Work with Principal-In-Charge, client, Director of Design, in-house project team, and external project consultants to complete all tasks related to the design and construction of a project. Conceptual building design, schematic design, design development, construction drawings, bidding/negotiations, and construction administration.

o  Project planning and production scheduling.

o  Building code research and Comchecks.

o  Material systems and construction method research.

o  Specification writing/editing.

o  Presentation of design concepts to clients.

o  Coordination of external project consultants work with that of DKN personnel.

o  Work with the Director of Construction Administration during the construction phase of the project including; attendance of onsite construction meetings and site visits to review pay applications and progress reports, submittal reviews and responses to RFI’s and construction related questions in a timely manner.

o   Responsible for creating and implementing his/her own work schedule including remote work or work from the office.

o  Work under deadlines

·     Physical Requirements:

o  Prolonged periods of working on the computer at DKN’s office including keyboarding, mouse movements, sitting for prolonged periods.

o  Ability to lift 15 pounds at a time.

o  Ability to walk a construction site.

o  Ability to physically set up the Matterport scan equipment and perform a Matterport scan at a clients building.
