Currently Hiring for 2nd and 3rd Shift
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, setup cards, machine status boards, and verbal or written instructions.
- Machine and install or re-cut chuck jaws as necessary.
- Place and secure tooling in machine turrets and execute machine setups.
- Transfer programs to and from the machine, making minor programming adjustments as necessary.
- Employ various types of computerized numerical controls to produce finished machined products, executing a variety of machining operations within precise tolerances.
- Inspect own work to ensure correct dimensions, maintain company quality and quantity standards, and complete required documentation; may also inspect the work of other machinists.
- Potentially operate multiple machines and rotate through departments.
- Input data into the ERP system.
- Handle loading and unloading of component piece parts weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Fulfill other assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Compliance with policies and procedures established by the State Department is essential for this position.
- Previous experience and demonstrated proficiency in operating CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, or resistance spot welders (any combination of two machines), with intermediate knowledge and experience in machine setup.
- High school education or equivalent experience required.
- Dependability with minimal absences throughout the year is highly valued and expected.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience and knowledge of machining principles and methods for computer numerical controlled machine tools are necessary.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting work instructions and blueprints in English.
- External candidates will need to pass a Machinist test assessing mechanical aptitude.
