Area Superintendent

Project SuperintendentLouisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals within Plant 3. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets.Major responsibilities include establishing, coordinating and implementing area construction schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements. You will control expenditures in assigned area for labor, equipment, material and services and ensure field operations are within budget. You will be responsible for overall supervision of personnel in assigned area of responsibility. You will also coordinate all activities inside the Plant 3 area as well as coordinating a group of superintendents, field engineers and others for daily goals and activities.You will monitor progress and timely installation of the modules, interconnecting components and stick-built commodities within assigned area. You will provide leadership for the safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention programs on the project. You will daily coordinate with assigned Superintendents and interface managers. You will monitor and take an active role in the 28 days /120-days IAP schedule. You will perform work in a brownfield area, liaison with operations to perform this work. You will communicate with operations on interface work activities. You will be responsible for conducting area wide schedule, interface and performance meetings with all associated disciplines superintendents to establish and maintain a coordinated plan and efficient performance of the work in the area.You will set area priorities and resolve conflicts between disciplines. You will resolve problems and coordinate with engineering, procurement and others to ensure appropriate solutions are determined and implemented in a timely manner. You will monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules. You will be responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations. You will coordinate activities with other disciplines or areas and clients' resident representatives, as instructed by construction management. You will perform employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities for subordinate personnel. You will ensure that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility. You will ensure the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operation. Actively participate in scheduled safety meetings. You will demonstrate leadership in a team-based environment. You will ensure the most current design documents are used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation. You will ensure that all milestone dates are completed as scheduled. You will ensure that all construction activities meet quality and workmanship standards. You will ensure required permits are in place prior to the start of the work at site. You will monitor quantity reporting.Education and experience requirements include a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience. Required knowledge and skills include strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is desirable. You must display effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner. You must have previous direct hire experience. You must have strong technical knowledge of LNG facility installations. You must have strong experience of liaising with and coordinating contractors and vendors. You must have strong technical knowledge of heavy industrial civil /piping/mechanical/electrical facility installations. You must have knowledge of multi-discipline construction or engineering operation. You must have knowledge of the project's ES&H handbook, the supervisor's ES&H manual, the project safety management plan and Bechtel's core processes. You must have knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies.Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
