One of our clients in Washington Navy Yard, DC, needs a Financial Analyst 2 for a contract position.Position: Financial Analyst 2Location: Washington Navy Yard, DCPosition Type: ContractTravel: Onsite, up to 10% CONUSClearance: Active DoD Secret ClearanceJob Description: iQuasar is seeking a Financial Analyst 2 to provide mid-level business, financial, and programmatic support to the Advanced Undersea Systems Program Office (PMS 394) under Program Executive Officer (PEO) Attack Submarines (PEO SSN). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial data, budgeting, reporting, and contributing to program decision-making to support efficient execution.Here are the roles: Perform comprehensive financial analysis, including data collection, budget forecasting, and trend evaluation. Create, update, and maintain financial databases and spreadsheets. Generate regular financial reports and maintain supporting documentation. Provide daily support to the Financial Management team. Develop financial models and evaluate performance against budget plans. Coordinate with stakeholders to establish and prioritize funding needs. Reconcile spend plans and weekly status reports with Resource Management Plans. Submit and track Task Assignment Sheets for financial transactions. Monitor and reconcile obligations and expenditures. Resolve discrepancies in accounting records and respond to data calls. Support the development of Congressional budget exhibits. Work with field activities to ensure timely receipt and processing of reimbursable funds. Prepare analytical and technical input for documentation and briefings. Develop and present briefs (classified and unclassified) for senior leadership. Lead and delegate tasks to junior financial analysts. Demonstrate professionalism and contribute positively to team dynamics.Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field (OR 3+ years of direct experience supporting a Navy customer in a financial role)] Minimum 7 years of experience as a financial analyst in a DoD environment, including at least 3 years supporting the Navy Hands-on experience with Navy ERP and execution of funds Strong understanding of Navy Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes Familiarity with tools such as PDOCs, RDOCs, COBRA, and PBIS Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas)Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Team Submarine or submarine programs Knowledge of NAVSEA/Team Submarine policies and procedures Understanding of Navy appropriations and funding rules Background in budget process automation or process improvementKey Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to synthesize complex data for senior-level decision-making Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or in teams Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)Employee Benefits: Competitive compensation Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company contribution Paid time off (PTO) and holidays Referral and discretionary performance bonuses.
