We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee nationwide operations at our 503A sterile compounding pharmacy in Texas. The ideal candidate will possess 15+ State Pharmacist Licenses, strong leadership qualities, a comprehensive understanding of sterile compounding regulations, and a commitment to delivering high-quality compounded medications to our patients.


Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing sterile compounding, including USP and , FDA guidelines, and Texas Board of Pharmacy requirements.
  2. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the safety, efficacy, and sterility of compounded medications. This includes monitoring environmental controls, equipment calibration, and personnel training.
  3. Compounding Operations: Oversee all aspects of sterile compounding operations, including formulation, preparation, packaging, and labeling of medications. Ensure accuracy and precision in compounding practices.
  4. Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of compounding ingredients, supplies, and finished products to ensure uninterrupted operations while minimizing waste and maintaining cost-effectiveness.
  5. Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise pharmacy staff, including compounding technicians and support personnel. Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  6. Patient Care: Provide exceptional customer service and clinical support to patients and healthcare providers. Collaborate with prescribers to optimize medication therapy and ensure patient safety.
  7. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records of compounding activities, including batch records, sterility testing results, and quality control documentation. Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about developments in sterile compounding regulations, industry best practices, and technological advancements. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality outcomes.


Qualifications:

  1. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  2. Current pharmacist licensure in good standing in the state of Texas and a minimum of 15 additional active state licenses.
  3. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sterile compounding, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
  4. Thorough understanding of USP and standards for sterile compounding.
  5. Strong attention to detail and adherence to strict aseptic technique.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Prior experience with regulatory inspections and audits is desirable.
