Medical Assistant - New ProvidenceNO CERTIFICATION REQUIREDJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant for a Back Office MA position. The role involves comprehensive patient care, including performing patient intakes, vital checks, and assisting healthcare providers with procedures and patient room setup. You will also be responsible for maintaining electronic medical records, sterilizing instruments, and managing office supplies and inventory.ResponsibilitiesConduct patient intakes and load rooms efficiently.Perform vital checks and room patients.Assist the provider in patient care and office procedures.Set up and break down rooms for office procedures.Take manual blood pressure readings.Update inboxes and scan documents for EMR.Sterilize instruments and update charts with medication information.Restock rooms, supply closets, and complete inventory management.Triage phone calls for physician or patient inquiries.Update patient records and input orders in the electronic medical record system.Essential SkillsMinimum of 6 months of experience in medical assisting.Experience handling high patient volume (80-100 patients per day).Proficiency in using EMR systems, preferably Athena or Epic.High school diploma or GED.Certified MA preferred (certification must be from an accredited program) or completion of relevant courses from an accredited school.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in Ortho or Podiatry is highly advantageous.Proactive, outgoing, and able to multitask efficiently.Strong problem-solving skills and patient flow management.Exceptional customer service and bedside manner.Flexibility to work shifts and travel to different office locations as needed (reimbursement provided).Work EnvironmentThe role involves a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, with two Saturdays a month. Typical hours are Monday-Thursday from 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The office handles approximately 80-100 patients per day with two doctors operating simultaneously. There is potential for assignment to other offices in Morristown, Fairlawn, Livingston, with prior notice provided.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Providence, NJ.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
