Job Title: Aerospace Structures Mechanic

Industry: Aerospace/Space

Shifts: Swing, Weekend Day, Weekend Swing

Pay: $46-48/hr


Responsibilities:

· Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn (GS1) First Stage & Second Stage structure.

· Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.

· Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles.

· Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.

· Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.

· Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.

· Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations and other ground support equipment as required.

· Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instruments.

· Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.

· Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD

· Ability to work off-shift, extended overtime, and weekends if/when vital.

· Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.

· Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and background

· Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Qualifications:

· 5 to 10 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing & aerospace structures (Sheetmetal)

· Experience in Drilling Aluminum, Composite & Titanium structures

· Experience in at least one of the following is required: Heavy (Primary Structures drilling experience) (Secondary Structures drilling experience)

· Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, understands written work instructions and test procedures.

· Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds

· Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person.

· Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.

· Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas.

· Work at Heights on work stands and in lifts.

· Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 35lbs.

· Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
