They operate cash registers accurately, scan products, and ensure cleanliness of the store, quality and quantity of product, and tend to supply needs in the store and at the pumps.Core competencies include partnerships, growth mindset, results orientation, customer focus, and professionalism. This position reports to the District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Manager of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Fast and Fresh Department Manager; Assistant Fast and Fresh Department Manager.Primary duties and responsibilities include:Providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer serviceOperating cash register accurately and scanning productsRedeeming promotional coupons, food stamps, and completing credit-card transactionsAssisting with inventory and receiving delivered merchandiseEnsuring proper maintenance of the lot and cleanliness of the work areaMaintaining strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dressSecondary duties include ordering merchandise and supplies, pricing products, and performing other job-related duties and special projects as required.Knowledge, skills, abilities, and worker characteristics include the ability to solve practical problems, perform arithmetic calculations, and interpret instructions.Education and experience requirements are not specified. Physical requirements include the ability to perform medium work, vision requirements, and various physical activities.Working conditions include exposure to temperature extremes, dampness, equipment movement hazards, electrical shock, and exposure to cleaning chemicals and solvents. This is a fast-paced work environment.Equipment used includes telephone, fax, copier, pallet jacks, garbage disposal, trash compactor, cardboard compactor, box cutter, knives, computer, calculator, frozen juice machine, coffee maker, cash register, RPM, and gas pumps.Contacts include daily interaction with customers, co-workers, suppliers/vendors, and the general public.
