SCADA Engineer

Hybrid: Dallas


Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be able to design, implement, and maintain computer systems that monitor and control industrial processes, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Control: Oversee computer systems for renewable energy sources, like wind or solar, to keep them running smoothly.
  • Troubleshooting: Step in and fix any issues that arise with these systems.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Safety: Ensure systems operate safely for people and the environment.
  • Improvements: Work on upgrades and optimizations to make systems better over time.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering)
  • 5+ years of technical experience.
  • Understands substation protection systems, utility-scale solar plant instrumentation, and energy storage system design.
  • Skilled in designing and managing utility-scale solar and storage SCADA systems, including experience with BESS EMS systems and Ignition software.
  • Familiar with communication protocols such as Modbus and DNP3 and experienced in conducting FAT and SAT testing and documentation.
  • Possesses knowledge of utility meters, substation RTAC, protection relays, and power plant networking, including security and firewall protocols.
  • Aware of NERC CIP requirements and understands the regulatory landscape related to power plant operations and cybersecurity.
