Centra is continuing to grow with plans to expand into a larger campus in the next few years. These plans include the construction of a new specialty office building which will house the Brain and Spine programs along with other surgical specialists. In addition a new 5story patient care tower will house an additional 100 patients at burg General Hospital. The LGH ED will be replaced and incorporated as part of the new Northeast Tower. The new Emergency Department will include 71 treatment bays five trauma bays and four imaging rooms. Enhancements will include a split flow model of care to expedite and enhance patient experience of care an integrated EmPATH psychiatric patient space super track/imaging/results lounge and improved connectivity and utilization of the ED observation unit.

About the Practice

Centra Heart & Vascular Institute has a fulltime opportunity for a Physician istant that is interested in working with our Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This exciting position offers a mix of inpatient procedural & practicebased with a collaborating physician.
Centra Heart & Vascular Institute is home to fortytwo Physicians including eight Surgeons and fifty Advanced Practice Providers all who specialize in the major disciplines of vascular surgery endovascular & cardiology including electrophysiology interventional noninvasive cardiology and pediatric/adult congenital. Our physicians are board certified and are acknowledged both nationally and locally as leaders in the field of cardiovascular care. The group is supported by a fulltime staff of nurse practitioners physician istants nurses medical istants and certified technologists.
Position Details:
5 days a week – 7am – 3pm most days

• Position duties include a heavy inpatient ½ day outpatient per week
• Night Call 1:3 to 1:4
• Participate in weekend & holiday rotation 1:3 to 1:4
• Training on the job
• Set OR blocks
• Rounding on patients

About the team:
Our Cardiothoracic team does coronary artery byp graft the maze procedure aortic repairs and valve replacement surgeries. They take pride in their APPs and their abilities in the OR and with patients the training is very hands on with the whole team to make sure that you succeed.
