*Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse MedSurg*
* Conduct thorough assessments of patients admitted to the medical-surgical psychiatric unit, including physical health, mental status, and psychosocial needs.
* Perform ongoing assessments to monitor changes in patient condition, behavior, and response to treatment.
* Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, incorporating medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health interventions.
* Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions as prescribed, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards.
* Utilize effective communication techniques to establish rapport with patients, build trust, and facilitate therapeutic relationships.
* Provide emotional support, counseling, and education to patients and their families regarding their conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
* Respond promptly to psychiatric crises, behavioral disturbances, and medical emergencies, implementing appropriate interventions and de-escalation techniques.
* Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement crisis intervention plans to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and staff.

*Requirements of the Registered Nurse MedSurg:*
* BLS Certification
* ACLS Certification
* NY RN License
* 2 years previous Medsurg Psych experience
