Summary:

As T-SQL Developer with Perl , you will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to work on complex technical requirements. You will be responsible for managing multiple engagements, prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary, in a fast paced environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize T-SQL stored procedures, functions, and triggers for high transaction environments.
  • Design and implement database schema, tables, and relationships to ensure data integrity and performance.
  • Utilize Perl scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Automate routine database maintenance tasks and system operations using Perl.
  • Collaborate with the development team to integrate database operations with existing Perl applications.
  • Conduct performance tuning of T-SQL queries and indexes to improve database efficiency.
  • Manage database backups, restores, and updates while ensuring data security and compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide support for database-related issues; troubleshoot and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for database schemes and Perl scripts.
  • Keep abreast of the latest technologies and best practices in database development and scripting languages.


Required Skills:

  • BS in computer science or engineering degree or a related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience in Requirement Analysis, Strategic Analysis, Software Development Fundamentals, Design, Development, Maintenance, Testing and Implementation of efficient data flow and batch processes in applications.
  • Experience in TSQL programming, Perl and Shell scripting.
  • Excellent understanding of relation transactional databases like Sybase and MSSQL.
  • Strong knowledge of Extraction Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes using TSQL and Perl/Shell scripting.
  • Experience in TSQL (MSSQL/SYBASE must have ) code development, performance tuning, query optimization and batch or ETL creation experience.


Desired Skills:

  • Experience with other database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Familiarity with other scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server and/or Perl programming are a plus.
