Position Summary: Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is looking for a charge nurse to join our Case Management Team. This position is a full-time benefit eligible position. Predominantly working days, ten hour-shifts including rotating weekends and holidays.  Subject to change according to the needs of the business.

The Charge RN Oversees discharge planning process, collaborating closely with both clinical and administrative teams to ensure that patients receive the appropriate level of care and follow-up after discharge. In addition, the Charge Nurse will lead the daily operations of the case management teams, ensuring the maintenance of an efficient and effective workflow within the department.

Responsible for working directly with patients, family members, area hospital staff, physicians and other community agencies in obtaining referrals and providing case management for patients of MBO including: screening, pre-admission and admission process; care plan management and coordination; ensure medical necessity through monitoring severity of illness and intensity of services and evaluation of services to ensure patient’s needs are appropriately met. Obtains admission authorization from third parties after admission to medical, surgical, and OB floors.


Minimum Qualifications:

License/Education:  Licenses/Education: Nevada RN license, or NV LPN license.

Experience:  One year experience in acute care case management, and three years acute care nursing experience required. Basic knowledge about health care systems, social services, and community agencies. 

Licensing Requirements:  American Heart Association Certification in BLS and ACLS within 90-days upon hire.
