Must Haves

  • Recent experience as a Video Engineer analyzing/delivering text files (Manifest).
  • 3+ years of prior experience in Software Development preferably coming from the entertainment industry.
  • Experience working with digital video workflow and operations, and digital video technology development
  • Understanding of playback protocols such as DASH, CMAF/HLS and specifications
  • Understanding of how APIs work
  • Experience in validating and verifying APIs using testing tools (postman, Charles proxy).
  • Technical experience with cloud-based technologies, specifically within architecture/infrastructure (AWS)
  • Experience in working with teams, building real-time, large-scale, low-latency distributed systems.

Day to Day

Insight Global is seeking out an experienced Video Engineer to join a global streaming platform on a hybrid schedule in NYC. This role will serve as a line of support to verify playback manifest specifications and validate playback across multiple platforms. On a day to day basis, this person will be using in-house and third party tools, building and supporting the VOD, live and linear pipeline for streaming video, optimizing video encoding, packaging and delivery. Some responsibilities include creating comprehensive test plans/cases to validate business requirements, and using requirements and modeling to work with Product Owners to implement smart technology solutions, ad tools, an delivering premium quality audio. Lastly this person will be managing and maintaining cloud based content delivery and services, and continuously learning, improving, and optimizing processes and ways of working. Analytical skills are crucial, as this person will be pinpointing where the problem is in a specific text file, figure out why the issue occurred, and come up with solutions on how the team will fix it.
