Kubernetes DevOps Engineer

Long-term Contract

Required to be on-site 3 times a week in one of the following locations:

  • Atlanta, GA
  • Chandler, AZ
  • Richmond, VA



Must-haves:

  • Programming Knowledge: Any programming language
  • AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
  • Kubernetes
  • Openshift
  • Experience in both operations and applications


Job Description:


  • The role involves leading the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function for all Cloud functions, encompassing both public and private clouds as well as containers, with an expansion into additional services like Vault, etc.
  • Cloud SRE Engineers support and enhance the cloud platform through automation and development.
  • The team provides coverage across different time zones, with resources located in the USA and India for 24/7 support.
  • Responsibilities include handling tickets, escalations, problem-solving, and automation using Python and Ansible.
  • Former Systems Engineers with expertise in scripting, automation, and operating systems (Linux, Windows) are also considered, as they contribute to writing automation scripts and playbooks.
  • Familiarity with Azure, AWS, Containers, and OpenShift (OPC) is essential.
  • The team focuses on automating tasks related to provisioning, monitoring, and availability, and they work closely with development teams to create and automate workflows.
  • A background in systems or networking is beneficial, as the team is shifting towards a more proactive approach, including root cause analysis and contributing to bug fixes through code reviews.
  • Experience with infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Consul, Nomad, Vault, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have a BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, along with at least 5 years of experience, with a blend of Systems/Dev and SRE roles.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Shell, Python, and Ansible is required, and familiarity with other languages like PowerShell, Golang, Java, etc., is a plus.
  • Proficiency in UNIX/Linux operating systems is necessary for this role.
