Control Engineer

Position: Controls Engineer
Duration: On-going Contract (1 year minimum + likely extensions)
Location: Parma, OH
1st shift – needs to be able to work 2nd shift as needed
OT/weekend work as needed
Compensation: $39-$42+/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Must Haves:
- 2+ years of experience as controls engineer working with Allen Bradley PLCs
- Experience working with HMIs (They use Siemens)
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging PLCs
Plusses:
- Experience with beckhoff motion controllers or TwinCat
- Experience with robotic programming (Fanuc Kuka ABB)
- Experience working in Automotive

Day to Day: Insight Global is looking for a Control Engineer for a large Automotive OEM in Detroit, MI. The controls engineer will be programming Allen Bradley PLCs and supporting the production line for general assembly. You will be going on layout meetings, ensuring the project runs efficiently and is meeting deadlines, and troubleshooting on the production line as needed. Additional Responsibilities include:
- New program implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls/robotics design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff)
- Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts
- Manage deliveries to program timing milestones
- Provide project report outs to senior management
- Existing program/site support (troubleshooting, etc.)
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all customers/plants
- Provide technical direction to less experienced controls engineers.
- Design and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems
- Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology
