Financial Analysis & Reporting:

  • Credit Analysis: Conduct in-depth credit analyses to assess and monitor the financial health of insurance companies and non-depository members, including prospective members. Utilize tools and sources such as S&P Market Intelligence, quarterly statutory financial reports, Bloomberg, SEC filings, business plans, annual reports, and confidential regulatory examination reports. These analyses will support and inform credit risk-related decisions.
  • Supplemental Reviews: Regularly review and monitor the financial status of Supplemental Mortgage and Private Mortgage Insurers engaged by the Mortgage Purchase Department as needed.
  • Financial Research & Reporting: Develop and interpret reports to support ERM management in making informed decisions related to lending, collateral, and underwriting risks for insurance companies and non-depository members, ensuring compliance with regulatory credit risk parameters. Collaborate with other Bank departments to integrate and refine data in both existing and new reports. Provide relevant reports to internal departments and external entities, including the FHFA and state regulators.
  • Data Optimization: Retrieve and enhance data from automated sources such as S&P Market Intelligence, Bloomberg, and various Bank systems for accurate reporting and compliance.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. An advanced degree (Master’s level or higher) in a business-related field and/or professional certifications (CPA or CFA) along with relevant work experience are strongly preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the life insurance industry, with a strong understanding of insurance statutory financial statements and the regulatory landscape. Experience with insurance examinations is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Exceptional analytical and communication skills with a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access) is required. Experience with data analysis tools such as Python and Power BI is preferred.
